On today’s episode, I’m on location with my guest Steve Murphy, co-owner of Slaymaker & Nichols Gastro House, located right here in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island, Canada. Together, we chat about the history of the location, Steve's philosophy, process and approach to creating VERY tasty original cocktails, how you can adopt his process at home, as well as a rather hilarious GINcident.
About Steve Murphy
Steve is the co-owner of Slaymaker & Nichols Gastro House and The Blue Mussel Cafe. Steve’s favourite part of being an entrepreneur is the creativity and passion that takes place behind the scenes. It’s all about making that customer have a great experience, the tastes, the touches, the senses. This is why he loves creating cocktails, of all aspects of the business, this has become a passion. He loves the show that comes with cocktails. It’s a show you put on, and then you get that feedback right away from people enjoying what you created. When you get to do what you love, it makes going to work really easy.

Steve came to learn a lot about mixing flavours from the early years in the restaurant business where he worked in the kitchen on a regular basis. He has always had a passion for cooking and is an excellent home cook so that love has now moved over into creating cocktails.
