Regan invites Annie Asher onto the show, to talk about arthritis in our knees. Our knees suffer from wear and tear over time, but arthritis typically comes to us in 3 stages. However, when it reaches to stage 4, that’s usually when you will feel pain. Many doctors will often prescribe ibuprofen to help with the pain, but that is not a long term solution! A stem cell treatment can greatly help reduce pain and get you back to living a normal life again.

Key Takeaways:

[1:10] Regan and Annie will be looking at X-rays. You can see the images on their YouTube channel. Link in the show notes.

[1:35] Arthritis in our knees comes in 3 stages.

[3:00] For some of us, we don’t even feel any pain during stage 3.

[3:45] If you’re knees ever get to stage 4, then that’s when you’re in trouble.

[5:10] Your doctor might tell you to take ibuprofen; well, that could actually accelerate your condition!

[6:00] Having pain is not a normal function of the body. Instead of masking it, you have to find ways to correct it.

[8:15] Knee replacements work about 50% of the time. However, 50% or more will often need additional surgery.

[10:50] Regan has seen significant improve with stem cell therapy.

[15:35] The New England Journal of Medicine conducted a study on a small group of patients who received knee surgery vs. those who did not. What results did they find a year later?

[17:50] The mind does play an important role in our recovery, but it gets left out of the equation, because it might sound a bit too ‘woo-woo’ for some.
