TEXT: Jeremiah 2:1-9 One of the most common complaints people make against God is that He is not fair. This charge has been made by both the greatest of saints and the most strident of atheists. However, while we may not understand all that is happening in the world in our present age, if we take a look at history, we will see that God is, indeed, fair. It did not seem fair to the disciples of Christ that God would allow their Master and Teacher to be beaten, spit on, and crucified. But, today, we look back on those events and see that God was wise, just, and more than fair in the midst of those events. And, if we look even further back, in this passage from Jeremiah, we see God being fair to His wayward people. He starts out, not by condemning them for their present evil deeds, but by pointing out that He remembers when they were once doing good. The Lord remembers His past relations with His people even if they pretend not to. What does the Lord remember about Israel?
