We can never fully exhaust the meaning of the Word of God. We can say things and not mean them. We make promises we don’t keep. We say we’ll do things that we end up not doing. The Word of God is not like that. The Word of God finally is a person, Jesus Christ, who comes to be in a relationship with us. Apart from Christ we are alone in an uncertain world. Jesus gives us both life and light. It is only in him that we see reality as it actually is and it is only in him that we can be reconciled to God and to our true selves. (Text: John 1:1-5)
