David Bronner & Gero Leson are todays guests on the Podcast. They are the unique trailblazers and (r)evolutionaries behind the ethical and regenerative brand that Dr.Bronner's has become over the last decades.

David grew the company from $4 million in 1998 to over $129 million in annual revenue in 2019. From a hister of over 150 years of family soap-making history: Dr. Bronner’s began in the U.S. in 1948; founder Emanuel Bronner’s German-Jewish family began making soap in 1858.

Gero who is Vice President of Special Operations at Dr. Bronner’s just published a new book: Honour thy label (March 2021)

We talked about:

Not just making soap, but trailblazing conscious and regenerative business impacting social, environmental and regenerative well-being:

The difference of organic by neglect and expanding the global agriculture into Regenerative Organic Agriculture. Recently launched ROC certification, that Dr. Bronners spearheaded with other ethical brands such as Patagonia. It’s really a standard that mandates what you should be doing in your farm, not just choosing better “than no pesticides” but going deep into Focus on the education of farmers in these communities, to develop practices such as composting, cover cropping, mulching, and other regenerative organic methods that build up soil fertility and organic matter.

Gero shared some stories about soil making and management from Canada, to Sri Lanka, Palestine, Ghana, Germany and many other countries on the planet.

How Gero & David met through their love and knowledge around Hemp and the diverse soil and crop approach.

David shared insights into the Cannabis market, and why Organic Cannabis doesn’t (yet) exist in the legalized US market. Check out his consumer facing standard SUN and EARTH on that note.

And of course their 7 generational dream for the planet, our species and the soil.
