Grab a glass of wine, a hammer, and a power drill as we head to Livingston, NJ to visit Board & Brush. Don't worry, they provide the tools and materials, you just bring your own beverage of choice as you select one of over 400 projects owner Julie Schachter and her team has to offer.

Segment 1
Julie discusses her background, how she's always been "Miss Fix-It" and how she fell in love with the concept of Board & Brush after seeing a post on Facebook. Different than a paint and sip where everyone does the same project, you get to choose exactly what you want and how you want it to look! She explains what to expect when coming to Board & Brush the first time, different projects they offer, and more!

Segment 2
We get our hands dirty as Julie takes us through a demonstration of the process that goes into creating one of these stunning projects. With hammers, screws, chains, and other tools they distress the boards. After a little sanding of the edges, they use stain to give it a cleaner finish and then drill the boards together. Next comes the stencil with your own design on it, but you will have to take a class there to do that!
Today in New Jersey History: The first United States Senator from New Jersey, Jonathan Elmer was born on November 29, 1745.
Segment 3
Board & Brush, like many other businesses during the pandemic, was forced to shutter its doors. Julie and her team decided to pivot and create at-home kits, virtual classes, and even built projects for their clients like cornhole boards.
New Jersey Fun Fact: New Jersey's state motto is "Liberty & Prosperity"
Segment 4
Julie lives in Livingston and knew this would be a great business to bring to the community. Board & Brush provides after school classes for children, classes for people with special needs, and other members of the community.
