Hello! And welcome to the second episode of Hammer House of Podcast, where Paul Cornell (Doctor Who, Elementary) and L.M. Myles (Verity!) discuss, in order of UK release, every horror movie made by Hammer Film Productions between 1955 and 1976, from The Quatermass Xperiment to To the Devil… A Daughter. This episode we're discussing 1956's X the Unknown where one of us is ever so pleased it's set in Scotland, there is an entirely reasonable argument about whether a goopy-porridge like substance from the Earth's core is a metaphor for nuclear war, and we are ever so delighted to have an American scientist not played by Brian Donlevy.
