Open: Welcome to the Podcast. The show is hosted by Bill Alvstad, and features Seattle Seahawks Writer and podcaster Keith Myers. Today’s Episode dives into the camp battles sure to take place between the players the Seahawks have on the roster at the safety position. At the end of the segment, we will also spend a few minutes discussing what Special Teams looks like this year, including a look at new Place Kicker Blair Walsh, who the Seahawks acquired in the off season. In the News, this Week: • The Seahawks opened a required minicamp including veterans on Tuesday, with all players expected to show, including Michael Bennett. Bennett frequently takes a pass on the voluntary work outs at the Seahawks facility, but does not like to lose his salary in the way of fines, if he should miss a required camp. Other notable players participating at some level include Cam Chancellor who had double ankle surgery in February to remove bone spurs. Earl Thomas, who broke his leg last season, and Tyler Lockett who had a compound break in his leg, but looks to be ready for the start of camp at the end of July. • The Seahawks saw the passing of another player from their past. Rick Tuten, Seattle Seahawks punter died at the age of 52 unexpectedly in Costa Rica according to the Ocala Star Banner.
