This is the second of 15 shows on the CBS Radio Network starring Stan Freberg and a group of outstanding musicians and comedians...Barbara Fritchie was the 92 year old woman who got up our of her sick bed in 1863 to wave the American flag at a troop of Confederate soldiers under the command of Gen. Stonewall Jackson as they marched by her house in Frederick, VA. The series was cancelled after 15 shows because of an internal battle between Freberg's stand on sponsors... no cigarette company wanted by Freberg... but CBS wanted them and they were also upset at some of the comedy routines making fun of and poking at big corporations and even the CBS Radio executives. All 15 of the shows in 1957 will be in the playlist "Stan Freberg"
