In this chapter, Will vows to find Lyra and enlists our new angel friends Balthamos and Baruch to help him, despite their plans to take him to Asriel. Baruch goes ahead to find Lyra and Coulter while Will journeys on with the ever-sarcastic Balthamos. After a very tense encounter with another angel who calls down Metatron, Will and the angels escape to another world, where the angels tell Will more about their mission and we learn more about the Authority. Lyra continues her conversation with Roger and promises that she and Will will find him.
