Most people love a good scare - at least occasionally. We all have memory of one time or another when a film "got" us and the way we jumped was fantastic. Whether or not you love horror though, well, that's another matter. The treatment of women, and minorities in particular is highly problematic in the genre, and that's before we get to the blood. Big N Funky Productions takes a unique approach to the whole thing. Coming from a background as pro wrestlers, their perspective is less classically tongue-in-cheek (think Scream or Jeepers Creepers) and more the deadpan dare you to laugh style we'd associate with the Andy Kaufman's. Is this code for sophisticated entertainment? Absolutely not - but they are really pretty funny!

In this interview we peak behind the scenes not only talking to the two founders, but also one of their lead actors, and the marketing and promotions person that makes it all happen. They crew take on some serious questions with some great answers and a lot of irreverence.

The company's last big project The Hike is available for streaming on Amazon. It's a very funny film that's something like The Blair Witch Project if the two main characters were obnoxiously sarcastic jerks to each other.

Here's how Big N Funky describe themselves:

Big N Funky Productions started when two wrestlers produced a zany pro wrestling television show for Fox that was beloved by fans but canceled after 6 months. From there, the duo started producing podcasts, paranormal television, music videos, comedy skits, created a paranormal television network, which led them to making feature horror comedies That are fables about the great smoky mountains. They’ve just released their second feature WJHC a.m. Which will be released on Amazon prime in the next few weeks.
