Martin Scorsese latest film takes us on a gruelling journey to 17th century Japan, where two Catholic Padres, Sebastião (Andrew Garfield) and Francisco (Adam Driver) travel across the world to find the lost Father Ferreira (Liam Neeson), who has apostasied and given up the faith to appease the Japanese Inquisition. With great cinematography, sound design and acting, Silence is a masterful film, but with its intense religious questioning and slow pace, can be brutally punishing for the audience. Is this still a film worth watching though? Listen to our mildly spoiler ridden review to hear what we believe.
