We sat with Joe and Mika for half an hour apiece, tracing the paths that led them to the beginning of their partnership on MSNBC a decade ago. Joe details his roots as a musician and songwriter, telling us that it was this identity and a stubborn determination that drove him to law school, then Congress, and eventually to television. Mika describes a different road, one that began in the shadow of brilliant parents, her mother an accomplished painter and her father a diplomat who was Jimmy Carter's National Security Advisor.
