Opioid-related overdoses have increased as a health threat during Covid-19. In 2006 a law was passed in New York State that allowed non-medical persons to administer Naloxone or Narcan to another individual to prevent an overdose from becoming fatal. Here in Troy, we have also seen a spike in overdoses and community groups like Equality for Troy have been increasing their harm reduction efforts.
