Humanity is a new civilization based on merit on a new world, Huron, determined not to make the same environmental mistakes that harmed Earth, which it still trades with, including sending it Huron’s waste product. The rules of merit that guide civilization reward individual performance and talent, but also punish those whose "deficits" allegedly threaten the future of humankind.
