Clare is a textile and multi-media artist. Having grown up in South Africa during Apartheid, her life and art has been characteristically influenced by the socio-political tension that pervaded her early years. When she is not working on her own art, her focus shifts toward community art projects that are aimed at exploring complex issues such as cultural and spiritual identity, as well as community visioning. Clare's creations range from transparent, multi-tiered art installations to large scale textile wall hangings, and everything in between. She tends to tackle themes that naturally arise out of her community connections. Her special interest is in exploring what makes complex systems functional, and how they relate to social systems and organizations. Clare is a humble human, truly a beautiful being.
