There is so much that this host wants to know about Dave Kline. He's a fascinating being, lauded by another: Chick Corea. What he said - and it's at Dave's website: "I love your musical universe - it's so fresh and creative." That universe is one that someone who has a show called "Hybrid Jazz" LOVES :) A beautiful marriage of genres and cultures and countries that sounds organic. A word that is now used too often. But HERE it means flowing - never forced to fit. Truth: it's what Django Reinhardt would have in his ear piece. And it would excite his friend and musical collaborator, Stephane Grappelli, Who ALSO knew a thing or two about VIOLIN! The circumstances behind the motivation for violin: unknown. This is a mystery for now - Dave will reveal his inclinations and inspirations, we're sure. But that he landed in the Washington, D.C. area from London is just pure blessing. He has enchanted our friends in the Nation's Capitol for a while - some of those friends, Ken and Lynn from Veronneau - knew before MANY. There will be a double release coming soon (11/11!) in their neck of the woods: the Strathmore in Bethesda, Maryland. The Dave Kline Band will star wih Veronneau in a rockin' musical cruise around the world. Pals and fans who have witnessed Dave's magic outdoors and IN - who have seen him on TV felt the buzz even from a distance - will gather to celebrate an album's success. We have to attribute much of that to the efforts of the great Kari Gaffney - who knows greatness when she hears it :-D A publicist/promotion guru who is great herself! Written, arranged, engineered and produced by Dave Kline, "Shifting Borders" will leave you BREATHLESS! Join us for the music and conversation on 11/7: ONE p.m. Eastern!
