“Commit and figure it out later!”. This is a common statement heard from the amazing athlete, Linda Quirk who has undertaken a number of athletic challenges in her 50s and beyond. She recently set the record for the first woman at age 70 to complete the 135 mile Badwater race in Death Valley (referred to as the “World’s Toughest Foot Race”). Her list of athletic accomplishments includes the 7 Marathons on 7 Continents, the Ironman World Championships in Kona, Brazil 135, several Racing the Planet races, and the Route 66 UltraRun. Tune in to hear about her journey into endurance sport, why she pursues challenging races, and details about her 2-time finishes at Badwater 135 at the ages of 60 and 70.

After the interview, Bob and Dina chat about crewing at Badwater 135 and provide details about her nutrition plan. Summary notes for the Badwater 135 race in 2023: 105 calories per hour average, 246 milligrams of sodium per hour, ~7-9 oz fluid per hour, and a total of 6 bottles of the DeltaG Performance Ketone Esters.
