On this episode I speak with Kingpin—local Toronto staple, vintage men’s shop owner, ordained priest and exorcist, and overall lovable weirdo here on the show to test out his collection of anti-hysteria devices on our very special returning guest Edith—in hopes of sexorcising her uterus demons. First thing’s first! We get to know a little bit about this mysterious Toronto local, who’s probably been to your party and you didn’t even know it—Kingpin. He’s been running and curating Kingpin’s Hideaway—not your average vintage store, but a gentlemen’s clothing and accoutrement shop. Before all this he was, and still is a Master’s of Divinity Priest at your ready for Weddings and Exorcisms of the wild wild West, steam punk, star wars, furry, or any other orgy of decorated humans subverting the traditional purity-posturing ceremonies. From his dark and devious collection of antiques, Kingpin has meticulously selected an assortment of devices from the anti-hysteria period—basically archaic vibrators used to calm women down in the 19th-20th centuries when it was believed their emotional volatility would dislodge their uterus. So, when doctors got tired of the manual labour, they opted for mechanical assistance to regulate these out-of-control women by bringing them to climax. Enter Edith…our returning special guest and volunteer for a hysterical exorcise in coming to homeostasis.
