The Cobblers travel to Oakwell on Saturday for their next League One game, as they face Barnsley.
Barnsley had a turbulent end to last season, with a change in management and uncertainty about their playoff spot. Despite a strong performance in the playoffs, they fell short and remained in League One. The Tykes have since appointed Darrell Clarke as the new manager, who has brought a positive and motivated atmosphere to the team.
However, the transfer window has been slow, particularly in securing strikers. The return of Connor Hourihane and the addition of goalkeeper Gabriel Slanina have been highlights for the fans so far.
