Hello everyone, we are back with another important episode of IT'S K"S. Savan and Kunal first took a moment to state that we stand in solidarity against the racial injustices and discrimination in our world at this time. The injustices that African Americans have faced for centuries of our history is unacceptable. It is each and everyone's responsibility to fight for change and show our awareness, support, and love to the victims of racial oppression in America. All the names we are saying are innocent lives who have been subject to police brutality at the hands of the same people who are supposed to protect us. As you hear us say these names, think about how unfair their lives were treated, how they should be honored, and what we have to do to make sure that not a single name is added to this list. Our generation must take on the responsibility to fight in unity against injustice to make sure our future is brighter than our present.

We talked about the courage and sacrifices that Colin Kaepernick made by kneeling during the National Anthem of NFL games. He was faced with undue criticism from President Trump and no longer had a job in the NFL as a quarterback. While Commissioner Goodell initially believed that players should stand proud for the flag and patriotism he has since changed his position now. Many prominent athletes have shown their support of Kap including LeBron James, Kevin Durant, Stephen Curry, DeAndre Hopkins and others. In 2018, Nike released their powerful commercial with Kaepernick "Believe in something, even if it means sacrificing everything".

Then, we switched topics to talk about how some players still haven't fully opened their eyes to the systemic racism that African Americans face in this country everyday. Drew Brees initially stood strong to his opinion that he would never agree to anyone who doesn't proudly stand for the flag because he has family members who have served for this country. However, he has since changed his stance and reflected on what truly is the root problem here. The protests were never about the flag and it was always about a country who promises freedom for all but has not filled their end of the bargain.

Lastly, we wrapped up the episode talking about some of the trailblazing athletes who have passionately made a difference within sports including: Jackie Robinson, Jesse Owens, Serena Williams, Venus Williams, Muhammad Ali, LeBron James, Maya Moore, and Colin Kaepernick.
