Join us as our host, Carol McDaniel, sits down with guest Courtney Robinson, our director of Advanced Practice Providers (APP) at All Children’s Hospital Johns Hopkins Medicine. Courtney joins us from Texas Children's Pediatrics, where she was manager of advanced practice providers and clinical manager of an after-hours/urgent care clinic affiliated with Texas Children's Hospital. In these dual roles she managed patient care, clinic operations, patient outcomes and service recovery while also providing clinical care. She was responsible for compliance and credentialing with the Texas Board of Nursing. During more than 16 years of pediatric nursing, Courtney also served as the lead acute care pediatric nurse practitioner for the Texas Children's Hospital Emergency Center, hiring and mentoring a team of advanced practice professionals while focusing on operational, quality and patient safety issues and developing and implementing an APP billing model. Courtney earned her M.S.N. as a parent-child clinical nursing specialist from the University of Texas-Austin and her acute care pediatric nurse practitioner (PNP) certificate from Rush University in Chicago, where she has been a member of the clinical faculty since 2007. She served as an acute care PNP preceptor for Rush, Baylor and Vanderbilt universities and also achieved LEAN certification.
