The Eurovision year doesn’t just revolve around the 40-odd songs that you get to see performed on your TV screens each May.
Hundreds of songs go through the National Final process, in order for countries to select their entries for the Eurovision Song Contest. And whether it’s Melodi Grand Prix or EMA, Objetivo Eurovision or Uuden Musiikin Kilpailu, or Melodifestivalen or Eesti Laul, there’s always going to be that song that just didn’t make it.
Michael and Mark get hypothetical this week as they explore what might have been if this year’s National Final second-placers did in fact win.
