V nekdanjih prostorih kartuzijanskega samostana Bistra je danes Tehniški muzej Slovenije. V svoji več kot 500-letni zgodovini delovanja je samostan doživel vzpone in padce, ukinjen pa je bil z dekretom cesarja Jožefa drugega oziroma med jožefinskimi reformami.
