Prof. Dr. Johannes Orphal, Leiter des Instituts für Meteorologie und Klimaforschung, Atmosphärische Spurengase und Fernerkundung am KIT, spricht in seinem Vortrag "Vom Wetter zum Klima: Fernerkundung der Atmosphäre" über die Bedeutung der Atmosphäre und verdeutlicht, weshalb es wichtig ist diese zu erforschen. Er geht zudem auf Aspekte des Klimawandels und Wetterbeobachtungen aus dem All ein und wagt einen Blick in die Zukunft. Die vom ZAK | Zentrum für Angewandte Kulturwissenschaft und Studium Generale koordinierte Veranstaltung "KIT im Rathaus" fand am 22. Juni 2016 statt.
