Episode 77: From TARDIS With Love

This week Maggie is back in the country without much knitting to show for her trip as there was a non-knitting project that demanded most of her time. She has done a little more on her Lush cardigan, however, not to menton got to go swimming with dolphins! Meanwhile, Karen has been her usual non-monogamous self, what with the Cookie A socks and the tiny stitches of doom socks and the wrap cardi she’s been working on.

In Geek Squee there’s LOTS of Doctor Who news, stating with the announcement of who is playing the 12th Doctor, certain companion’s names becoming very popular baby names, Google Maps adding the TARDIS to street view, and a fabulous Mr. Potato Head for the Whovians. We’ve also found a guide to creating hairstyles from Game of Thrones, and FINALLY, the CIA has admitted that Area 51 exists. So in other words the biggest reveal of a non-secret ever. There’s also a REALLY COOL podcast becoming very popular recently called “Welcome to Night Vale” that you guys seriously have to check out. Oh, and a little new casting news for Agents of SHIELD.

In Cravings Covets and Crushes, the fall issue of Twist Collective is out and we’re squealing over a number of the designs within. Also, Purlin’ J’s Yarn Co is now roaming Eastern Ontario, and we discovered Finnish etsy store Sukkaplokki, purveyor of seriously adorable knitting accessories made out of recycled plastic.

We have an events thread in the Ravelry group! Organize meetups and chats or let people know about events happening in your area. There will probably be an announcement about an Agents of SHIELD premiere watch-along in there soonish.
