The Revolution Will be Sung ~ Music and Social Movements, Part 2
Peace and Justice Center of Sonoma County
Monday, November 6th, 2017 @ 7:00 pm
Presented by:
David Walls, Ph.D.
Professor Emeritus of Sociology, Sonoma State University
Hosted by Occupy Sonoma County, David's multimedia presentation will inspire us with a unique view of history by exploring the role of music in the social change movement.
''As a professor at Sonoma State University my academic focus emphasized multidisciplinary approaches to courses on the civil rights movement, the women's movement, and the environmental movement. After retiring from SSU in 2005 I taught a course at several universities in the Bay area on what accounts for successful social movements. The study of social change has been my life's work,'' said David Walls.
Occupy activist Stephana Morales said, ''David Walls did this presentation last year and the audience begged him for more. He agreed to continue with part 2 of this inspiring teach-in. This is not the history that I learned in school.''
Enjoy a Pay-what-you-can Plant Sale.
Also, there’s a Free Seed Exchange (bring your extra seeds to share).
