Christmas may be one of the most simple yet confusing holidays on the calendar. Ask the average person about the meaning of Christmas and they have high expectations for it to be a time for great parties, exceptional gifts, meaningful family celebrations and the like. But when Christmas passes, most of these same people feel like it never fully lived up to their expectations or their predictions. Perhaps they have missed it’s most simple message: that God sent His Son to us in such humility and love that we should respond in kind. When we do, we can attend “God’s party”, experience the “greatest gift” of all, and have the most “meaningful celebration with God’s family.” But it all comes down to what it is that we really want for Christmas. We’ll examine how God’s predictions of it and how our expectations for it can make this Christmas your best Christmas ever.
