Half a millennium before Google Books, Christopher Columbus's son, Hernando Colon, set out to create a Universal Library in Seville. Many of the books from Hernando's extraordinary collection were pilfered or destroyed after his death, but a key piece from his 16th-century 'Library of Everything' has just been discovered in the most unlikely of places.
