#0019: Susan Parnell on embracing the pain + starting a business when life gives you Lyme
Manage episode 181098107 series 1453213
What amazed Susan most was the way herbs and teas from around the world helped strengthen and heal her body from the intensive treatment.
To function and try to mitigate the unpredictable and painful symptoms of chronic Lyme Disease, she researched what she could do on her own to complement her conventional care. Susan would scour the back of tea packages to find teas that would help me. It was like trying to find the perfect bottle of wine, which gave her the idea to create a "Benefit-Driven" tea line - benefits like Smart, Happy, and Rehab. And Wild Leaf was born for folks who don't have time to tread down the ancient tradition trail or get all zenny about their tea consumption.
What we'll also discuss in this episode is how Susan manages a chronic illness like Lyme Disease with being a wife, a working mother of 2, and the owner of a small, but growing, business in Sparta, New Jersey. Susan will share how she segments her days and prioritizes what's essential for her to stay healthy.
