If you still pronounce Thai words and release ending consonant sounds of ก(-k), บ(-p), and ด(-t), Thai people likely do not understand you. I got quite some inquiries regarding the ending consonant sounds, hence I created a podcast to help you understand the concept of ending consonant sounds as well as created an exercise to help you differentiate the unreleased ending sounds. This will be helpful!

  • -ก (k) ending
  • -บ (p) ending
  • -ด (t) ending

These ending consonant sounds should not be released. Close your throat and hold your breath.

To improve your pronunciation, it's better to see the mouth shape of a native Thai pronouncing Thai words. Check out my Thai Pronunciation Series and see free preview lessons to get started improving your Thai sounds and become more confident to speak Thai.
