Are you struggling to find the time to work on your side hustle? Or maybe you can’t figure out how to transition from your full-time job to working full time on your business?
Patrick McGinnis is going to share a simple strategy for how to transition into entrepreneurship and if you never think you’ll work on your own, how to make your career more secure.
He’s the author of The 10% Entrepreneur. By day, he’s a consultant and board member for companies working in emerging markets.
He says he spends roughly 10% of his time outside of his day job working on his investments in tech companies, real estate and his creative pursuits.
What I love most about the strategy Patrick will share with you is how the power of small, consistent action can achieve significant results.
A few lessons that we touch on in our conversation include:
- Why complacency is dangerous and why it’s so important to step outside of your comfort zone on a regular basis.
- Focus your free time on stuff you enjoy doing and cut out the things that don’t matter and work with people you enjoy.
- Why your day job will no longer provide the long-term stability in a day job so it is imperative to learn how to create your own work whether you want to leave your job or not.

Once you carved out 10% of your time for your side hustle, Patrick recommends the following action to make the best use of that time:
Sit back, close your eyes, and clear your head.
Ask yourself what it is that you really want to do. The creativity will flow from there.
