Herein I talk about the idea of a value in attempting to engage with a set of game rules as written without significant houserules or tablerules or changes from the 'game' as it is set out in the text, as well as what I see as the importance in engaging with the game as written when evaluating games (and the importance of including opportunity cost in your 'Was this game fun?' calculation). I don't know that I did a great job communicating my points with either discussion, but maybe I'll come back to these ideas after chewing on them a little more.
