Hear this trailer of our conversation with Saurabh Kirpal on his anthology of essays; Sex and The Supreme Court. Saurabh tells us how the book closely examines issues of gender and personal agency.
In one essay, what is shocking, is the insight that 160 year old Victorian laws which viewed women as chattel or property still govern the Indian Penal Code today. So while a judgment overturned criminalisation of adultery, criminalising marital rape remains out of reach.
