The #KnivesDownBikesUp movement was started by Blaen Roberts, 21 from Kirkby, who created an Instagram page to arrange "rideouts" with youths to help prevent knife crime

The group ride their bikes from the city centre every Sunday to places like Crosby, Freshfields, Southport etc. and can have numbers up to 130 riders from around the city and also the country.

Blaen told Mick Coyle how he hopes it keeps young people off the streets by getting out on their bikes on a weekly basis and how he educates the teens about the dangers of gang and knife crime.
