Happy Sunday Everyone, Angela Bowen here, the host of She's A Small Wonder: A Small Wonder Podcast. Welcome to the first official podcast episode of She’s A Small Wonder: A Small Wonder Podcast. S1E1: Vicki’s Homecoming Airdate: September 7, 1985 In this episode Genius United Robotronics cybernetics engineer Ted Lawson, brings home for assembly and long-term field beta testing Vicki, or V.I.C.I. (Voice Input Child Identicant): a secretly constructed robotic domestic aide in the form of a 10-year-old girl, to whom housewife Joan takes a shine while 10-year-old son Jamie instantly takes advantage of Vicki as a maid to clean his room and do his homework. I rated this episode 4/5 Robots 1. Tiffany Brissette bringing the character of Vicki to life in all her monotone glory. 2. Ted for coming up with such an amazing idea and creating Vicki. The reasons he listed how she would be beneficial to society such as working in hospitals, helping hearing impaired and vision impaired people and also her other possible abilities. 3. Joan for being a supporting wife of her husbands talents and treating Vicki like a real child even though she’s a robot. 4. Jamie for his wisecracking and how he refers to himself as “The Big J”. Well hear this more s the show goes on. I knocked one point off for who else but Harriet being her nosy obnoxious self (won’t do this for every episode), but the fact that she’s holding this information about Vicki over Ted’s head like I can tell my dad who also works at your company and get you in so much trouble. Just like blackmail. Join me next week as I cover the episode S1E2: The Neighbors, which aired on September 14, 1985. In this episode Nosy neighbors, the Brindles, invite themselves over for dinner due to a power outage at their house. Naturally, Vicky tickles their curiosity, leading them to ask several questions that the Lawsons have no answers for. Can the Lawsons keep Vicky from blowing the evening - and her cover?
