Hello listeners and friends.

This is an episode idea that came up at the last minute by our very own H man David Leal. This episode like the last one, kind of falls outside the geekdom category. David wanted to talk about somebody he followed in the world of sports, and wanted to talk about his legacy and life. In particular he wanted to touch upon the life and times of Jose Fernandez, pitcher of the Miami Marlins whose life was tragically cut short in a boating accident. David identifies with someone of that stature because of his similarities, and it was at his request that he wanted to honor is memory by having this episode. Originally I didn't know how to contribute my own thoughts into this episode. But I found it ironic that the unfortunate passing of Jose Fernandez happened the same week as someone else who has inspired me. Of course that event happened 30 years ago. And being the big fan of Metallica I am, I felt it was appropriate and fitting that I honor the memory of Cliff Burton. I was much too young to ever see Cliff play live, but upon listening to Metallica in my teenage years, I got to hear just how amazing and gifted he truly was.

This episode is about legacy. In a way, it's kind of our old segment Heroes of Inspiration as one episode. Normally we won't regularly do an episode of this nature, but every once in a while, it's good to have something different. I hope you listeners still find this one enjoyable. It was a very unique experience. S.A.
