“Our number one responsibility is to raise high-functioning, intelligent, nuanced, loving, service-oriented adults. I think that’s what we’re really trying to do.
And we think there might be an inverse correlation between safety and how we want to raise our kids to be, if we want to raise our kids in the name of protection and then suddenly expect them to flip a switch at 21 or 26 and become service-orientated, loving, nuanced, kind, worldly, and the best sense of culture and open to other ideas.”
Jeremy and Jess Courtney of Preemptive Love talk about how relationships change language, what they learned about how other families do life while living amongst another culture, and how being hopeful is a lot easier when you’re closer to the problem.
Welcome to the Love or Work Podcast, hosted by Andre Shinabarger (Physician Assistant, Grady Hospital) and Jeff Shinabarger (Social Entrepreneur and Founder of Plywood People). They are asking the question: Is it possible to change the world, stay in love and raise a healthy family? 100 interviews where Jeff and Andre learn from other working families in the journey of marriage, purpose and parenting.
