A sermon preached by Pastor Angela Freeman -------------------------------------------------------- Ezekiel 37:1-14 | Psalm 130 | Romans 8:6-11 | John 11:1-45 -------------------------------------------------------- In today's Gospel, Lazarus has died and his sisters are mourning when Jesus arrives. Mary and Martha say that he would have lived if Jesus had been there, and Jesus responds that he is the resurrection and the life. Jesus is talking about life in the present, but all they can see is the closed tomb. We often respond in the same way, but Lazarus--on the other side of the stone-hears Jesus' voice and comes out of the tomb and they unbind him. My prayer is that each of us can be unbound and set free to live in Christ.
