Jesus as the Son of God received a command from God the Father to perform the work of salvation for those given unto him in the covenant of grace. There was a distinct, definite group of people that were given unto Christ and the work given unto him was to save those people from their sins. Jesus declared on the cross that he had fully finished the work given unto him, and also at the end of time, Jesus will present all the people given unto him before the Father without the loss of a single one.
