In this episode, Ron Drummonds, Managing Partner at RKD Investments, LLC, discusses that the real secret to success in life is having multiple streams of income. Ron is a graduate of PHSD (Public High School Diploma). From the time he was in his 20s, he believed in having multiple streams of income to insure there was always money coming in.
Ron goes on to explain that he has exemplified this multiple streams of income mindset from a young age, when in his 20s he started out as a full-time meat cutter and had a lawn care business on the side and sold real estate at night.
In the interview, Ron notes that too many people in America today rely solely on their paychecks for income. If they lose their job for some reason and have no other stream of income, they are in deep financial trouble. This is a mindset that he has passed along to his children, encouraging them to have at least 6 or 7 streams of income to financially protect themselves.
Ron started RKD Construction in 1990 with no clients and zero in revenue and built the company to over $40.0 million in sales since inception while also performing duties as managing partner in 3 LLC's. He is now the managing director of RKD investments, which invests in real estate, mortgages, hard money lending, as well as vintage autos and trucks.
Ron now offers consulting services to small business owners as well as individuals. He is an Inc. Magazine Top 5000 Award winner and winner of the Tampa Bay Business Journal's Fast 50 Award, ranking number #2 in 2013.
