Indian benchmark indices are likely to open weak on Thursday, tracking sluggish Asian markets. In Asia, stocks fell over uncertainties about US-China trade negotiations, while oil prices plunged 4 percent following higher US crude inventories.
Back home, India’s retail inflation rose to a seven-month high in May to 3.05 percent, still below the Reserve Bank of India’s target of 4 percent, giving it room for further rate cuts.
On Wednesday, the BSE Sensex ended 193 points lower at 39,756.81, while the NSE Nifty50 shed 59 points to settle at 11,906.
At 7.40 AM, SGX Nifty an early indicator of the Nifty 50's trend in India, fell 19 points, or 0.16 percent, at 11,906, indicating a weak start for the Sensex and the Nifty 50.
