Abdominal Aortic Aneurysms (AAA) can be life threatening. A AAA is when the part of the aorta that resides within the abdomen becomes bigger and bursts. Unfortuately, a AAA can develop slowly and not present with any symptoms. Occassionally people may feel a pulse near their belly button, or a pain in their back or stomach. Thankfully a thorough medical check up with a doctor can at times incidentally diagnose a AAA through investigations being conducted such as; vascular ultrasound imaging. Dr Peter Bray(Vascular Surgeon) today on MeditalkPodcast helps us better understand what is a AAA and how can a AAA be diagnosed and treated. If you are concerned about your health please make the time and speak with a medical pratitioner. Thank you for listening to MeditalkPodcast www.meditalk.com.au For more information about Dr Peter Bray please visit: www.sjog.org.au/find-a-doctor/search-results/b/r/a/y/bray-peter-subiaco If this podcast can help another person you know - please share.
