Daniel and Marc discuss one of the very best shows of late 2014 and early 2015, Shirobako. At first glance, Shirobako is an anime about making anime, but the show has much more to offer beneath the surface.

The show's title (Shirobako literally meaning "white box") is a reference to the white VHS sleeves that used to be the cover for the master tapes distributed to production staff prior the release of each episode. Even though the white VHS card stock sleeves are no longer in use, master tapes are still referred to as "white boxes".

Many of the supporting characters in Shirobako are inspired by real-life counterparts, and the show contains a multitude of easter eggs and homages to other anime.
Trigger Warning: Aside from a handful of scenes of alcohol consumption, this anime should be considered safe for all ages.
You can watch Shirobako on Crunchyroll.

MAUS episode 10 will feature our first host pick, DBZ Abridged (a Dragon Ball Z fan dub and edit available on YouTube).
