Indie sessions goes Indie! First off, welcome back guys! We have a bunch of wicked Indie bands for you to check out this week. The Wombats, are from Liverpool and have a new album out called Glitter Bug! It's their fourth album- "We were halfway to Pluto when we realized we forgot our toothbrushes so we came back to earth to make an album." While researching Frankie Cosmos I stumbled upon an awesome music site called Bandcamp, it is a website that features artists music and full songs and albums. On the site, they also included art and pictures of the artists etc. Frankie Cosmos is the daughter of Kevin Kline and Phoebe Cates the American actors. Interpol has been around for YEARS. They've been playing since 1997. They are one of many bands associated with the New York Indie music scene and one of the several groups that emerged from post- punk late 2000's. Jesus, etc by Wilco has a blusie alternate vibe to it. Wilco is an American alt band formed in 1994. They have 10 studio albums and experiment from country to rock to electric, and even pop. Editors are most popular in Europe, they formed in 2002 and are currently on a European tour. They have quite a few charted singles in the UK. Oslo In The Summertime by Of Montreal has a weird psychedelic feel to it like the majority of their music. Their music is heavily influenced by the 60s and 70s and the 70s New York music scene. LANY has a show coming to Denver October 25th at the Ogden. Tickets are embedded in the word Ogden if anyone interested! The English post-punk group White Lies was once formally known as Fear of Flying. They changed name after writing numerous songs they felt didn't fit the original band name. California by Phantom Planet was the theme song for the TV show The O.C. Phantom Planet in 2008 announced they would be going on hiatus. They would no longer be going on tours, making new music indefinitely. Since then they have only gathered for a few shows. I attached an acoustic version of California of just the lead singer, give it a listen! Lastly, The Heartless Bastard."The Heartless Bastards are a small town band who are ready to show the big city no mercy." They have a new album out called Restless Ones and their music ranges from Blues, to Indie, to Garage, Rock, and even Country. Thanks for hanging with us this week here at Indie Radio Sessions with Met Radio!
