Sleep is a vital part of our lives, but sometimes we take the importance of sleep for granted. As midlife women, our bodies need sleep now more than ever to help us function properly. How much is enough? What affects our sleep? What happens when we're sleep deprived?

Krista Cumming is a sleep expert who helps tired, sleep-deprived midlife women get the sleep they desperately want and need. As she joins me on this episode, we delve into all things sleep. Krista will be sharing tips to help us not only get a good night's sleep, but to wake up and go get 'em as well (did you that something as simple as opening your blinds first thing in the morning to let the light in boosts the energy-providing cortisol?)!

Kristen and I chat about:

  • The importance of sleep.
  • How she got into the sleep field and why she became a certified sleep science coach.
  • Rapid eye movement (REM) and what happens to us when we’re in REM.
  • Blue light and the dangers of it.
  • How much sleep do we really need?
  • Signs of sleep deprivation.
  • What midlife women need to do differently to aid in our sleep.
