Windsor Smith is an innovative force in the design industry whose elegant interiors rethink the home for modern day living. Author of Homefront: Design for Modern Living (Rizzoli, 2015), she builds spaces that reflect their owner’s unique sensibilities while supporting their demanding lifestyles. Her environments for leaders in the entertainment, business and technology worlds balance classic and modern styles as well as ideals. A lover of antiques and time-honored rituals, her rooms reinvigorate the bonds of home amidst changing everyday patterns and advancing technologies. A favorite of design editors and bloggers for her thoughtful and spirited approach to design, Windsor was honored by Veranda magazine as one of the top 25 design influencers in their 25-year history. Architectural Digest named her book, Homefront: Design for Modern Living, as one of the 20 top design books of 2015. Her online journal, House of Windsor continues her book’s lines of inquiry, inviting a wider audience into the workings behind her lifestyle-based home designs. A challenger of conventions both inside the home and in the design profession at large, she launched Windsor Smith Room in a Box anticipating a rising need for design expertise outside of the conventional ways of hiring a designer. Focused on connecting design enthusiasts with top-tier, custom design she pioneered a means to access her design visions while offering clients more ownership in the design process. Windsor’s product designs include her own bespoke furnishings line, Windsor Smith Home Collection, as well as an array of licenses with leading home furnishing companies including Kravet, Century Furniture, Arteriors, Boyd Lighting, Mansour Modern and Jamie Beckwith Collection. For her latest venture, Windsor is building from the ground up. Titled "The New Homefront,” she’s busy at work developing a new architectural template for the modern global family scheduled to debut in Fall 2017.
