A very pregnant Sam Wesson and very schizophrenic Bobby-Jack McGee have been transported back in time to 1915 thanks to the Passenger and his knife. Heading into Jubilation, Louisiana to try and make heads or tails of their predicament, they seriously confused a priest and ran into a very recognizable shotgun-wielding woman who, despite Sam's best efforts, grew quickly suspicious of the pair thanks to Bobby's gregarious nature. To keep her from trying to dig too deep into the situation, Sam and Bobby-Jack agreed to help track down someone Zenobia claimed was a threat to her. However, before they could take care of business, a duo of apparent assassins got the jump on Sam, Bobby and Zenobia, inadvertently releasing the Passenger, and causing bedlam in the Devil's Backyard. Unfortunately, things are only going to get worse. What does Zenobia want with the man known as Guizer Yarl? How does the mysterious would-be assassin Warren and his apprentice factor into the mix? Will Sam survive a shoout in the streets while holding her water? And does the Passenger have more sinister plans in mind? The twisted tale of the Long Way Back continues...
