Manchmal ist es an der Zeit sich mit der Vergangenheit auseinanderzusetzen. Euer Mitternachtsreigen macht das ja einmal im Monat und taucht tief ein in ein schon lange vergangenes Jahrzehnt. Die musikalische Vergangenheit dieser Zeit gilt es zu bewältigen. War denn früher tatsächlich alles besser? Kommt denn wirklich nichts Besseres mehr nach? Nun, ja und nein. War schon cool, der Sound der 80er Jahre, teilweise schräg wie Wall Of Voodoos „Ring Of Fire“, äußerst catchy, unsagbar innovativ, richtig abwechslungsreich - fröhliche Gitarren, melancholische Gitarren, euphorische Synths, harte Synths (siehe The Klinik’s „Moving Hands“), traurige Synths. Für jeden war gewiss was dabei. Und eben diese Vielfalt dient als Inspiration für so manche Künstler des Heute, wie für die Münchner von Rue Oberkampf oder die Actors.
