In today’s episode, we’re talking to Dr. Matthew Lerner about Facilitating Social Connections For & Among Those with Autism Spectrum Disorders. Dr. Lerner is an Associate Professor of Psychology and an Assistant Professor of Psychiatry & Pediatrics at Stony Brook University. His research focuses on understanding mechanisms of and developing interventions for social and emotional functioning (in particular peer relations) among children and adolescents with autism spectrum disorders and ADHD. At Stony Brook, Dr. Lerner is the Lab Director of the Social Competence & Treatment Lab (SCTL), a.k.a. the "Lerner Lab" where he conducts his aforementioned research.
